The fifth conference on the history of the humanities, ‘The Making of the Humanities V’, will take place at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA), from 5 till 7 October 2016.
Venue:
The conference will be held at Charles Commons Conference Center , 3301 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21218.
How to get there:
We advise participants to fly to Baltimore Airport (BWI) and take a taxi from there to the city. As BWI is not an international airport this requires a transfer from a US international airport to Baltimore. It is possible to get to Baltimore from, for example, Washington Dulles (WAS) by public transport. From Washington DC train station it takes an hour to get to Baltimore Penn Station. However transfer from Washington Dulles to Washington DC train station should be done by bus or taxi, as there is no train connection, and may take long. From Baltimore Penn station one can take a taxi to the conference venue/hotel.
Accommodation:
The organisation has reserved blocks of rooms in two hotels:
The Colonnade Baltimore: please follow this special link or this general link . This hotel is located near the conference venue.
Radisson Cross Keys: please follow this link . Click on More Search Options and enter the promotional code JHUMHC under rate type. This hotel is 4-5 kilometers (2,5 – 3 miles) from the conference venue.
Other options can be explored via booking.com or airbnb .
