History of Humanities 5.1 has just come out with a special Theme on the History of Scholarly Forgetting. The Theme contains 11 contributions ranging from the forgetting of Nazi classical scholarship, the overlooking of amateurs in scholarly research, to the forgetting of Newton as a scholar. The special issue is topped off by a discussion about the phenomenon of scholarly oblivion beyond disciplinary boundaries.
In addition, issue 5.1 has three marvelous regular articles, on E. Panofsky, E.B. Tylor and the Ciceronian topos of historia magistra vitae, as well as 10 in-depth book reviews.
Enjoy!
