Register for The Making of Humanities V

The fifth conference on the history of the humanities, ‘The Making of the Humanities V’, will take place at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA), from 5 till 7 October 2016.

Venue:

The conference will be held at Charles Commons Conference Center , 3301 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21218.

How to get there:

We advise participants to fly to Baltimore Airport (BWI) and take a taxi from there to the city. As BWI is not an international airport this requires a transfer from a US international airport to Baltimore. It is possible to get to Baltimore from, for example, Washington Dulles (WAS) by public transport. From Washington DC train station it takes an hour to get to Baltimore Penn Station. However transfer from Washington Dulles to Washington DC train station should be done by bus or taxi, as there is no train connection, and may take long. From Baltimore Penn station one can take a taxi to the conference venue/hotel.

Accommodation:

The organisation has reserved blocks of rooms in two hotels:

The Colonnade Baltimore: please follow this special link or this general link . This hotel is located near the conference venue.

Radisson Cross Keys: please follow this link . Click on More Search Options and enter the promotional code JHUMHC under rate type. This hotel is 4-5 kilometers (2,5 – 3 miles) from the conference venue.

Other options can be explored via booking.com or airbnb .

Registration for the MOH-V conference consists of two steps.

First you need to become a member of the Society for the History of the Humanities ($30 for students and $60 for regular members). If you are not yet a member, click here to go to the membership page.

Second you need to register specifically for the conference by filling out the form below and following the payment procedure. This fee includes all coffee/tea breaks, all lunches and the welcome reception.

Bookings no longer allowed on this date.
